Mesmer Insignia
I'm trying to put together a Me/W and I'm curious on what Insignia I should use. This is for PvE right now. He's only a level 13, so I don't have alot skills to work with. I plan on making him a Illusionary Warrior.
I've actually considered putting Brawlers (+ 10 while attacking) or the Stalwart (+10 vs. physical damage). I looked at the Mesmer Insignia and they just don't seem helpful. I'm not sure the Virtuoso insignia, what does it mean by activating skills? Does that mean just when you click the skill? Sounds counterproductive for a fastcaster who's agenda is to reduce activation time.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

It is pretty counteractive lol My mesmer never gets hit during spellcasting. Um, If your going IW then I suppose survivor or brawlers would be ok. It all depends on if you want armor or damage more. If your having energy problems go with radiant.
wait till you get the build you want to get insignias and get the ones that make it easier to play for you. Right now mine has full survivor but thats because i went for the survivor title, and messed up after rank 1 but exiting out of GW during kilroys knockout or punchout or w/e its called.
Edit
I wouldn't get Stalwart just because there is a lot of elemental damage out there, and if your always attacking with IW, I just figure brawlers is better between those two

Unless you're going IW then I'd suggest full radiant - as a caster mesmer you'll be perpetually short on energy.

No wai.
Right now my mesmer is using no signets, couple 15 energy, 10 energy skills, and I don't have any problems with energy. Not even a single energy gain skill on my bar.
Although I guess if you had to spam something a LOT then i guess it would be true

What about Runes? I am thinking about getting Brawlers with Attunement runes.
Another option I can do is get Radiant with Vitae runes. Of course I'll get Illusion & fastcasting runes, regardless of which setup I use.
I have a possible non-Mesmer question; Do people mix insignias on their armor?

Defanatly. Depending on what you wanna do, you might use different insignias. For instance, a minion master will have one bloodstained insignia, not 5.If a warrior needs just a bit more energy but doesnt wanna waste a +armor insignia, he might keep the armor on the chest piece since thats the most likely piece to be hit, and energy on others. It's all about what compliments your build more. Armor, energy, reducing spells that exploit corpses, increasing knockdown, health, just look at what you need more.

Take Radiant runes across the board, or mostly radiant and a few survivor. Try not to take more than a major dom/ill/insp/FC rune, as it lowers ur health too much.

Survivor insignia is the best usually because one day you might end up like this:

Go for the max health you can get, in the end that's most versatile insignae.
IW is fun for a while, but really soon you'll stay away from this skill.

PvE only? I'd go for Stalwart, Survivor's, or Radiant. (I'm a Health junkie myself, so survivor's it is.)

Survivor is good.
+10AL vs Phy/Elem is good if you know what you'll face.
Attunement runes/radiant insignia are good because you can sell them and buy things that don't suck. Higher max energy doesn't do anything with regards to energy usage over time, and thus doesn't make a difference.

Agree, surv is useful for most cases.
Though I would say Me/D for the AoE if you are going for IW.

Me/D for AoE? You are joking right? Scythe hits 3 targets MAX, and only if they are in the right place. Scythe attacks slow, and does not allow for an offhand item (shield or focus).
Warrior allows you to use an Axe for Cyclone if you want AoE, and you also get the every important IAS. Flurry is extremely useful on an IW build. Cyclone hits more than 3 targets, and those 3 targets can be anywhere next to you, not in front and adjacent to your target.
